DANCES THIS WEEK
Enjoy dancing throughout this week! Start with Tuesday night's Contra Sonic dance, and then enjoy Blues on Thursday. Swallowtail performs for Friday evening's contra dance while Blue Sky 5 offers swing tunes for dancers. The annual Glen Echo Park Gala dance features the Daryl Davis Band and includes dessert, dance performance, lesson and carousel rides. Sunday brings back Swallowtail for the afternoon waltz and the contra & square dance that night, or dancers can choose a tango workshop and Milonga.

GALA DANCE
Please join us on Saturday, May 19 at 8 p.m. for the 2012 Gala Dance, part of the Art & Alchemy Gala in the Park. Tickets are $25 per person and all proceeds support the Glen Echo Park Partnership.
Swing the night away with the Daryl Davis Band! A beginning/intermediate swing dance lesson will begin at 8 p.m. in the Bumper Car Pavilion and is included in the cost of admission. Dance ticket holders are also invited to enjoy desserts, dance performances, and carousel rides for FREE.

GLEN ECHO PARK SUMMER CAMPS
The flowers are out and the trees are green--and summer is just around the corner! This year we're offering dozens of camps for children and teens (ages 4-19) in visual arts, music, environmental education, dance, and theater. Campers explore the worlds of their imaginations while learning from experienced artist-educators and exploring the magic of Glen Echo Park. After-care is available for ages 4-12 on a weekly or daily basis.

On Monday, February 27, theatreWashington announced the 2012 Helen Hayes Awards nominees. As reported widely in the press, Glen Echo Park’s Adventure Theatre was nominated for 13 awards. Read about all the nominees in Washingtonian magazine’s online blog.
Announcing our new Ballroom Cafe operator: The Brown Bag The Ballroom Cafe reopened for the season on April 2, 2012, with The Brown Bag as the new operator. Interested in Teaching at Glen Echo Park? The Glen Echo Park Partnership is accepting course proposals from visual arts, crafts, and dance and movement instructors for the fall and winter 2012-2013 sessions.
